TaeKwon-Do is said to be the self-defense of both mind and body. It teaches the body skills necessary for unarmed combat while training the mind to be self-disciplined. TaeKwon-Do is healthy for both mind and body as well. It builds the body in strength, balance, and flexibility while building the mind with self-esteem and integrity. TaeKwon-Do originated in Korea, and was founded by General Choi Hong Hi, who also founded the ITF (International TaeKwon-Do Federation). The General has since passed away, but his legacy and way of teaching continue through the USTF (United States TaeKwon-Do Federation), and its President, Grand Master Seriff.
